In a large-scale production, editor doesn’t work alone. Just like any other department, they have a team which consists of: 1 st Assistant editor 2 nd Assistant editor On-set editor (who deals with assembly card) They can also have a post-production supervisor who is the head of all process that happens during post-production and is responsible of getting everything done in time. Before I went to film school, I thought I knew what editing was, until I finally came to an understanding that editing is so much more than just “cutting pieces and sticking some of it together into a new piece” and then voila—you have created a masterpiece! Nope, one thing I learned from my lecturer who taught basic editing is that editing is not a tool, but rather more of a sense or a way of thinking, a very specific and unique way to tell a story that not everybody has. He said that everyone can (or at least learn to) operate an editing software, but that doesn’t make a good editor. It’s about how you operate those.    Who doesn't know Alfred Hitchcock's masterpiece, Psycho? Released back in 1960, Psycho has proven to be one of the most famous film from the 60's. As though many of his films, Hitchcock's Psycho was heavily influenced by a theory called the psychoanalysis. But hold on, what is psychoanalysis exactly?         Essentially, psychoanalysis is, among many things; a theory, a therapy, an instrument of research, and a profession. It's complex understanding of the psyche was a breakthrough in intellectual, medical, and sociological studies. Andrei Tarkovsky's Visual Poetry Trademarks on The Sacrifice (1986)

Andrei Arsenyevich Tarkovsky, born April 4th 1932, is widely known as a Russian film director and screenwriter. Although he only made a few feature film throughout his career, his contribution for the film industry was greatly influential. Filmmakers who then adopted Tarkovsky's artistic style is called Tarkovskian. Andrei Tarkovsky managed to make seven feature film before he passed away. However, all of his films shows such distinctive methodology. His visual language was very consistent, as many recurring elements in his films were frequent. He is also known for his poetic imagery, mostly due to his shot design.
